Team Sky Open Innovation Challenge with Solverboard

We’re at the half way mark of the Team Sky Open Innovation Challenge – and the ideas are flooding in! Over 230 ideas have been submitted on the Team Sky Solverboard site, and there are some excellent suggestions already – some technical, some digital, and some simple but potentially incredibly powerful.

We tracked down David Callan, Team Sky’s Head of Partnerships, and asked for his thoughts: “We are delighted with the response so far. It's exciting to see so many engaging and unique new ideas being submitted. Team Sky strives to innovate in all areas and Solverboard has certainly helped us to think differently about how we can look to create a deeper level of engagement with more of our fans.”

For this first challenge Team Sky has been looking for interesting, innovative and untried ways of involving its fans in the excitement of professional cycling. Their race calendar is a packed and complex one and takes them all over the world, which makes engaging with their global fan base difficult, so they’re looking for ideas to help them do better at this vital element of running a professional sports team. Anyone can enter, whether they’re a cycling fan or not.

Solvers who come up with the best ideas can win an exclusive signed Team Sky jersey and Official Team Sky Kit, but that’s not all. As part of its commitment to innovation, Team Sky wants to hear from people keen to work with them on generating and developing new ideas.

If you want to submit your idea, don’t forget entries close on May 14 2017 at 5pm (BST).
