Cleaning up Chicago

Written by Cecilia Thirlway | 8 Apr 2016

It’s another video for you this week - this popped up on our Facebook feed of all places, and caught my eye because it features Mr Chesbrough. No, not Henry Chesbrough this time, a different one, but just as connected to innovation.

Ellis Chesbrough was a 19th century engineer who cleaned up Chicago with his approach to sewerage and drainage. It’s a great example of someone reframing a problem to come up with new ideas, which is an important part of creative problem-solving.

Watch the video to find out what Mr Chesbrough did - it’s worth it - and if you want to know a bit more about him, there’s more comprehensive details here and here.
